This lightbox, which was shown as part of the group exhibition Rendez-vous provoqué at the National Museum of History and Art in Luxembourg, features a quote by Ludwig Wittgenstein in braille: "What is hidden doesn't interest us." But the inscription is essentially unreadable-both for the sighted, unless they are fluent in braille, and for the blind, since it is printed on a perfectly flat surface. Playing on the dichotomy between visibility and invisibility, or "light" and "darkness," it reflects on the relationships between art and interpretation. Its juxtaposition of image and text foreshadows the place that language and philosophy would hold in many of the artist's later works.
